Benefits of email marketing

Email marketing is very much alive and kicking. There are several benefits of email marketing and campaigns that can transform and dramatically increase your business’s earning capabilities.

In this blog post we’re not only going to run through the benefits of emails, but also talk about a real life case of using email marketing to raise a tremendous amount of money for a charity.

Why Email Marketing?

If you’re an entrepreneur or even just run a small business, you’re going to want to look for ways of staying in touch with your client base digitally. If 2020 has confirmed anything, it is that talking to your customers virtually is more important than ever.

Clients who subscribe with their email are likely to be more invested with their interest in the thing that you have to offer.

Think about it, do you think twice about offering up your email before you do it? Your email subscribers are likely to be your ideal clients especially if they’re using their email address to sign up to your opt-in gift (freebie) or newsletter.

Benefits of Email Marketing

Talking to your Ideal Clients

It is highly likely that your Ideal Client Avatars (ICAs) have signed up with their email addresses. The benefits of the email content is that you can engage with them on a personal level.

Whatever your business does, you want to be able to show your email subscribers that you understand their struggles and challenges.

It is a good way to gain your audience’s trust, by making them more familiar with your business, brand or even just your own personality.

This is also your opportunity to offer good value to your ICA, by providing them with great offers and information that others won’t necessarily receive.

Personalising

You are in control of what goes into the emails that you write. You can personalize your email content to include your subscriber’s names, and individualise content based on the type of subscriber you’re talking to you (e.g. new subscribers, old subscribers, etc).

When talking to your ICA, you want to be able to connect with them in a way which you can’t on social media. You can personalise the subject heading, calls to actions (CTAs) and images on your email content, in a way which will speak to your ideal customers.

Increasing Leads & Sales

When it comes to selling your products and services you will have a much higher chance of increasing your sales through an email list, because you have done the work and gained your audience’s trust.

Emails are a great way of communicating the messages and stories behind your marketing campaigns. Also, your subscribers have decided to opt-in to your email list, and are much more likely to buy from you in comparison with other potential clients.

Increasing Traffic to Website

By constantly reminding your email subscribers about your website, you’re generating a greater amount of traffic to it. By including clear CTAs leading to products which you are selling on your website, this will mean that more people are being sent over to your website.

Increased traffic, means an improved SEO for your website!

Email Campaigns

Email marketing campaigns are cost-effective and time effective. You have a list of email contacts which you can reach at any time, and don’t have to spend lots of money on printing, photography or logistics fees.

Writing the content for email marketing campaigns can be written in less than a day. This is FAR more beneficial than spending an entire day or two, writing and printing tonnes of marketing material.

John Halpern’s Marketing Campaign

One of our best clients, John Halpern, recently did a successful campaign to raise money for a charity (The Great Ormond Street Hospital).

John uses emails to communicate to his audience on a very regular basis. He is one of the UK’s best crossword setters, publishing for famous newspapers such as The Guardian, and several others.

John offers weekly zoom calls to his email subscribers where they can join and discuss their love of word play together. What more does his clientele want, but to spend an evening of entertainment with an expert in the field of crossword setting.

He offers amazing value to his ICA.

His email list meant that he could send out a marketing campaign to all of his subscribers, and in turn they had the opportunity to spend their evenings with several well known celebrities, who kindly offered up their time. This all being in the name of a fantastic charity to help children in hospital.

The charity event raised over £9,000!

Reach your Audience Anytime

Emails are checked by people on a regular basis. This can be on their mobile devices, laptops or tablets. It is a medium that is pretty much always active, whether on weekdays or on the weekends.

You need to be able to reach your particular audience at the right time, and you want to make this as consistent as possible.

You have full control over when you send out your email, and therefore making this a very good tool for making sure that you’re showing up for your ICA, and at the right time.

Own your Contacts

The contacts on your email list are owned by you, unlike the followers which you have on a social media platform (such as Facebook, Instagram, etc).

Also, the content you post is yours unlike that on social media.

The question here is that, if those social media platforms were to go, does this mean, no more social media following and your business losing a load of potential clients? Afraid so.

Social media is not a bad thing, in fact it has many supplementary benefits, but your business marketing should not be reliant on it.

By building an email list, you can talk to your audience and be sure that you own the subscriber list as well as the well thought out content which you’re posting.
